Hello again everyone- hope you are well
Writing this piece while recalling my last news roundup I’m struck by a sense of de je vu.
It’s just another day in another month-although spanning different regions and issues-where headlines continue to stream in at an extraordinary rate.
I am also reminded of how quickly time flies as am sure you realize.
Cloning Animals…. and Boys… in China
An article in the Express brings the topic of cloning into re-focus.
A mass cloning factory is to open by the end of this year in China- for cloning of cows-pets and ……….humans.
This plan by the country’s scientists aims to mass produce one million cows every year by 2020 and will be sponsored by the Boyalife group- yes I kid you not- in combination with the South Korean Company- Biotech Research Foundation.
Basically cloning involves removing a cell sample from a “donor” and fusing it with an ovum of the same species after the egg’s been stripped of its nucleus.
Once ‘activated’ these fused cells are implanted in the uterus of the animal. As clones are genetic copies- the gender of the clone is identical to that of the donor.
In spite of the ethical and health safety questions involved- the US Food and Drug Administration has said that these animal clones are as safe as the food we eat every day. According to the CEO of Boyalife- there are no immediate plans for human cloning- but this could change as people become more open to the idea. A fifteen thousand square metre laboratory- an animal centre and gene bank will be featured inside the factory.
The War on Cash Escalates
Forget Panama- that’s just a sideshow to distract- following the example of Venezuela, starting this summer, Japan will test a system which enables people to purchase goods at stores using their fingerprints- serving a threefold purpose of personal identification monitoring, monetary control – spending, saving and rationing-as well as data mining of purchases.
By eliminating the need to carry cash and credit cards- Japan hopes to increase the number of foreign tourists and prevent crime.
This experiment will result in inbound tourists registering their fingerprints and other data, such as credit card information at airports and other selected outlets.
The country hopes to roll out the system throughout the country by the year 2020.
This ‘experiment’ will be managed by a government consultative body after the data is converted to anonymous BIG data. This information will assist in analysing tourists’ movements and their spending habits to assist the tourist industry.
By the end of this month Japan’s Aeon Bank will become the first bank where customers will be allowed to draw cash from automatic teller machines using only fingerprints for identification omitting the use of cash cards.
It’s just another experiment along the line leading to the overarching one.
Ukrainian Prime Minister resigns.
That this occurred four days after the Dutch voted against Ukraine joining the EU is telling.
Clear signals that the US backed coup in Ukraine is not working. After encouraging and sponsoring a revolt against the previous Ukrainian administration by promising them the world- or maybe that was just Europe-a deeper dissatisfaction has set-in among Europeans over Washington’s interventionist policies according to the Ron Paul Institute.
A Bit of Comic Relief
German prosecutors have opened an investigation against a German television comedian alleged to have offended Turkey’s Erdogan. With issues like press freedom versus the on-going migrant crisis the stakes are high in the former – and the interest vested in the latter.
The allegation by prosecutors is that prominent comedian Jan Bohmermann breached a law that prohibits offending foreign heads of state or members of Governments.
Apparently under paragraph 103 of the German Criminal Code- offending a foreign head of State
carries a maximum penalty of up to three years.
It’s worth noting this isn’t the first incident of its kind. Just last month Turkey summoned the German Ambassador in protest over another comedian’s ridiculing of Erdogan- that time over his clampdown on Turkish journalists. Angela Meckel is in a bind as she requires Erdogan’s assistance in solving Europe’s migrant crisis and cannot afford to alienate him.
What will be the outcome?
CIA fingered in Panama Papers
The website Zero hedge reviewed the perspective of financial whistle blower Bradley Birkenfeld who was quoted as saying; The CIA I’m sure is behind this- the Panama papers leak- in my opinion. He goes onto say; …..I do not think the leaker was a genuine whistle blower motivated by the public interest. I think he was working on behalf of a sophisticated intelligence agency.
He alludes to the “John Doe” identity of the whistle blower fuelling his concerns-and states further- ….in fact the whole thing reads very much like a script concocted by some big budget intelligence agency. And the obvious choice is US intelligence- given the lack of implications to powerful Americans-the desperate attempt to smear Vladimir Putin- and the appearance of Soros, USAID, Ford Foundation, etc., linked to the Panama reporting.
It’s necessary at this point to provide a brief biography on Bradley Birkenfeld;
He’s a Swiss born American citizen, a banker working at UBS in Switzerland when he approached the US government with information on massive tax evasions by Americans with secret bank accounts in Switzerland. By the end of his whistle blowing career Birkenfeld had served more than two years in a US Federal prison-been awarded $104 million by the IRS as a reward for his information- and shattered the foundations of more than a century of Swiss banking secrecy.
$100 Million Quest for Alien Life
Stephen Hawking and a Russian billionaire are relying on a fleet of postage-stamp sized spacecraft to explore the universe in search of alien life-forms.
Astronomers believe an Earth-like planet could exist within the ‘habitable zones’ of Alpha Centauri-
the closest star system to Earth- located 25 billion miles-or 4.37 light-years away.
The goal is to reach this star system in twenty years- a mission made easier by ‘nanocrafts’ designed to fly at twenty percent of the speed of light- a thousand times faster than conventional spacecraft technology.
Have a STI and proud of it
STI’s stand for sexually transmitted infections and for those who didn’t know the month of April
is STI awareness month. This is all brought about courtesy of mad-cow diseased ultra-feminists- proof the west is done-for- in every way. Yes- it’s the fault of the anti-cultural times in which we live-
but a good proportion of the blame should be laid at the door of parents- and their parents in turn – who obviously hated their children- resented the loss of freedom they brought- so turned to competing with them rather than raising them.
Here’s the hashtag- or badge of honour-# ShoutyourSTI-
Egypt hands over Islands to the Saudi’s
This move has ordinary Egyptians outraged and is facing a legal challenge.
The islands of Tiran and Sana fir have been handed over to Saudi Arabia as per a maritime demarcation and furious Egyptians have taken to social media to lodge their protests.
Also- a tug-of-words over which country- Egypt or Saudi Arabia- has a legal claim to the islands have resurfaced leading some to speculate on a possible secretive purchase of these two regions by Saudi Arabia. Egyptian Comic- Basem Yousef twittered to Sisi; Come closer sir- the island is one billion- the pyramid is two – with two statues on top for free.
Either way -a new geopolitical alliance is emerging in the region at the behest of the Saudi’s – one increasingly disenchanted with the US.
Israel, Egypt and Turkey? Siding with Saudi Arabia- and on the other side- Iran, Syria, Russia, and China? and whoever else decides to join.
Iranian oil fleet moves on
A reoccurring argument is that Iran has had a hard time getting both funding and the required infrastructure to get its oil market to that of pre-US sanctions levels.
This situation however is changing ……fast.
All those tankers on anchor next to the Iran shore tell a different story- they have started to move.
Bloomberg asserts tankers carrying about 28.8 million barrels of crude have left the Persian Gulf country’s ports in the first 14 days of April according to tanker-tracking data.
Also according to Bloomberg- this oil is headed for China. Japan is another future customer- and there’ll be others no doubt.
Iran has also benefited from the disruption to supply in Nigeria and Iraq which affected OPEC output overall.
Thought Crime: Targeting Climate Change Deniers
This light-bulb idea was conceived in academia- where else- when 20 professors and scientists signed a letter asking Obama to prosecute climate change sceptics.
This despite the fact there isn’t even agreement within the scientific community- that –the Earth’s climate IS warming and human actions ARE the cause.
In an effort to force this issue climate change supporters have turned to the ultimate coercive force and power- government. On March 9th Obama’s attorney general admitted that the Department of Justice has discussed taking civil action- i.e. civil lawsuits- against climate change deniers.
Now 17 state governments are doing what the federal government is considering.
On March 29 2016- flanked by climate-change profiteer Al Gore- 17 Democratic attorney generals announced in a press conference that they will target-with legal action and huge fines- any company that challenges or denies climate change.
The states of New York and California have already launched investigations into ExxonMobil for allegedly funding research that questions climate change. But as has been pointed out by Exxon- those that uncovered this “research” was funded by advocacy foundations that publically support climate change activism.
The inquisition’s Tomas Torquemada- Al Gore- who used climate change propaganda to amass a multi-million dollar personal fortune- praised this ‘coalition’s’ work as exceptionally important even though what the Attorney Generals are doing is nothing less than prosecuting a thought crime.
When pressed on the effects such investigations and prosecutions will have on free speech- Schneiderman said climate change dissenters are committing fraud- and so are not protected by the First Amendment. Oh- ok then ……………………………….NOT.

Blasphemy Convictions intensify in El Sisi’s Egypt
Despite an already overburdened legal system blasphemy convictions have increased substantially during the Sisi era. Egypt is becoming more like Pakistan which although prohibits the defamation of all religions- only Christians and moderate Muslims are targeted and imprisoned.
President el Sisi likes to paint himself as an even-handed moderate but the overall picture tells a different story.
Last month 3 Christian teenagers were jailed for five years for contravening the defamation of religions law. A fourth defendant- fifteen year old- was assigned to juvenile detention for an indefinite period. Earlier- all the defendants were jailed for 45 days and subject to “ill-treatment”
according to a human rights group.
Their crime was making a 20-second video on a mobile phone mocking the Islamic State-an act interpreted as mocking Islam. In the video the boys pretend to be ISIS members praying and slitting throats. According to the boys defence lawyer- the youths were sentenced for contempt of Islam and inciting sectarian strife…. The judge didn’t show any mercy. He handed down the maximum sentence. The boys made the video when three of them were seventeen- and one fifteen.
It is believed the court continually delayed the case until the three youths turned eighteen so they could receive the full penalty of the law as adults. Their teacher who also appeared in the video received a three year jail sentence. There have been plenty of other cases. One young man was sentenced to six years for ‘liking’ an Arabic-language Facebook page administered by Muslim converts to Christianity. A female Christian teacher was imprisoned for six months after Muslim parents accused her of insulting Islam and evangelizing. And the list goes on.
China goes Big Brother
China- the police-state- has unveiled a new police car that can identify the gender-age and race of each face it scans according to a WSJ report.
A team at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China’s Police Joint Research Lab have developed a high-tech police vehicle equipped with a facial recognition system that can pick criminal suspects out of a crowd- state media reported.
The SUV- is mounted with a 360 degree rooftop camera array that automatically scans faces within a 60-meter radius. The system not only scans faces but compares it against faces stored in the police data-base- as well as alerting the driver when a match is made-all this while travelling at a speed of up to 120 KM’s per hour.
Seismologist warns ‘Catastrophic Mega Earthquakes Coming’
Since the beginning of this year south Asia has been hit by an unusually high number of large earthquakes which has scientists groping for an explanation.
The past 48 hours has witnessed five major global earthquakes -and one prominent seismologist has declared that other catastrophic ones could be on the way.
Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado has made headlines all over the world by warning that current conditions might trigger at least four earthquakes greater than 8.0 in magnitude.
If his projections are accurate our planet could be on the precipice of a wave of unnatural disasters unlike anything we have experienced before.
The Feds issue a frightening letter of warning to JP Morgan
Now here’s some information you won’t see in the business section of your newspaper.
Reading between the lines the 19 page letter from the Feds to JP Morgan is a foreboding one which demonstrates the increasing frailty of the US financial system.
The letter issued to Jamie Dimon-CEO of JP Morgan Chase-is a result of its failure to present a credible plan for winding itself down in the event of the bank failing.
After the 2008 financial crisis regulators and the President himself- assured the public the situation was under control as a result of the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation.
But according to the letter this is definitely NOT the case.
The Federal regulators reveal they’ve identified a deficiency in the bank’s wind-down plan- and listen to this- claim if this is not properly addressed could ‘pose serious adverse effects to the financial stability of the United States’. Yet the mountain of company lawyers and Board of Directors failed to pick up on this? The reason for this national threat posed by JP Morgan is that it has the highest contagion rate i.e.in respect to the other four biggest banks in the country.
Another concern is JP Morgan’s reliance on funds in foreign entities- in times of crisis foreign jurisdictions may lay claim to the liquidity to protect their own financial interests- a ploy known as ring-fencing. And don’t forget the crucial area of derivatives- despite claims to the country only 36.9 percent of the derivatives market was centrally cleared for the year 2015.
Three of the five biggest banks have had their wind-down plans rejected by the Federal Agency.
Its strange media is so reticent in its reporting on the scale of today’s bank problems.
